This photo was taken on June 27th, 2011 at Kaiyuan Temple in the of Quanzhou. During these weeks people come to to pay their Respects and the women are still with wearing traditional headdresses and flowers (although today real flowers have been replaced by plastic ones). It is a living tradition that survives from antiquity.
Richly decorated hair on a woman who wears various floral decorations in her hair bun. She also wears a strip of red cloth under a saddle-shaped hair clasp (right). The clasp is secured by a chopstick or some other kind of stick.
